Why MPT?
The MPT System for Mountain Sports was designed to prevent injuries, lose body fat, increase lean muscle mass and increase athletic performance. Our Coaches not only know fitness but they are also avid outdoor athletes who know the demands of the sports our members participate in. New athletes and members are guided though a Movement Assessement to see what measures of athletic performance and discus how it will be addressed in our program include: flexibility, core function, balance, power, speed, agility, quickness, strength and mountain sport specific cardio-respritory efficiency.
What is mpt?
MPT is a integrated sports performance program designed to develop optimum levels of functional strength and dynamic stabilization. Based out of Asheville, NC McHone Performance Training System was designed with the area's top outdoor recreation activities in mind. MPT provides a means by which mountain bikers, trail runners, climbers, paddlers and other outdoor athletes can integrate Strength & Conditioning workouts into their weekly regimen to increase their performance without leaving feeling overtrained.
How does mpt work?
MPT facilitates high quality training sessions that are consistent, sensible, systematic with a holistic and sustainable approach to integrated sports performance training. Our program allows for athletes and members to maximize their training time in the gym and on the trails. The MPT programming systematically processes athletes through a training process of acquiring proper levels of stability, strength and power training needed to keep our athletes durable so that they can continue sending it. If you want to be better at your favorite sport or recreation activities strength and endurance matter. MPT x 2-3 per week strength training program is designed to offer a better way for Outdoor Athletes to train with the right volume and intensity to get results but not leave athletes feeling destroyed.
Program Design
MPT designs and administers strength, flexibility, aerobic, plyometric and other training programs to help reduce our athletes likelihood of injuries and improve athletic performance. Specifically we design training programs that deliver the desired results in body composition, hypertrophy, strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, speed, agility, coordination, balance and power.
Athletic Development
We value all of our athletes as individuals. Our Training Programs account for biomechanical and physiological differences between individuals, our coaches take into consideration their ages, gender, training status, physical limitations and injury status.
Using our knowledge and expertise we recognize acute and chronic physiological responses and adaptations to training and their implications for the design of sport-specific training programs.
